Foreign Minister Visits Veterans Care Center in Namyangju

1. Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha visited a veterans care center in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do (province), on July 21, during which she extended sympathy to patriots and veterans as well as families of those who had died serving the country, and offered the donation raised from the Foreign Ministry personnel.

2. In the physical therapy room of the center, Minister Kang offered words of comfort to the patriots and veterans under treatment and expressed respect and appreciation to them for their valuable sacrifices.

° Holding the Minister’s hand, an elderly veteran in a rehabilitation program extended appreciation to the Minister for the visit to the center and asked the government of the Republic of Korea to pay keener attention and render more assistance to patriots and veterans as well as their families.

3. The visit to the center was one of the annual visits to such facilities made by heads of central government agencies in June, “the Remembrance Month,” to offer comfort to patriots and veterans.
