1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lifted the “Yellow Alert (travel-alert level 2: highly cautious)” previously issued for six coastal provinces in Peru (Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, and Ica), effective from August 24, 2017, considering the operations to recover from the damage caused by El Nino.

o The government of Peru has lifted the health emergency declared in the aforementioned six coastal provinces affected by El Nino.

※ In March this year, due to the possibility of safety issues involving the nationals of the ROK in Peru affected by El Nino, the “Yellow Alert (travel-alert level 2: highly cautious)” was issued for the country’s seven coastal provinces (Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Lima and Ica). The travel-alert level was lowered for Lima to the “Blue Alert (travel-alert level 1: precautious)” on June 7.

2. Given the situation, the nationals of the ROK staying in Peru or planning to visit the country are advised to check the travel advisory issued by the Foreign Ministry when setting up schedules.
