1. In response to the current security situation in India, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea has decided to downgrade the travel-alert level for Ladakh, -- except for the city of Kargil -- India, to Level 2 (Highly Cautious) from the previous Level 3 (Travel Restricted), effective from November 14, for the following reasons.

° Ladakh, the eastern part of the Jammu and Kashmir state currently under travel-alert Level 3, is a safe region with relatively low terrorism and other security risks.

- The region, geographically segregated from those dominated by Muslims and Hindus, maintains its own identity differentiated from that of the rest of the Jammu and Kashmir state.

° It is necessary to maintain the current travel-alert level for Kargil in western Ladakh, as, lying close to the border with Pakistan and being a rugged mountainous area, the area faces safety risks.

※ Travel advisories for different parts of India
- Red Alert (Travel Restricted): The Jammu and Kashmir state (including Kargil), except for Ladakh
- Yellow Alert (Highly Cautious): Ladakh (except for Kargil) in the Jammu and Kashmir state; Andhra Pradesh; Chhattisgarh; Bihar; Jhkarhand; Odisha; Sikkim; Nagaland; Manipur; Mizoram; Arunachal Pradesh; Assam; Tripura; Meghalaya; the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- Blue Alert (Precautious): The rest of India

2. The Korean nationals planning to visit or staying in India are advised to check the travel advisories issued by the Foreign Ministry and to pay heed to their safety.
