Foreign Ministry to Host Nordic Culture Festival

1. The Foreign Ministry will host a Nordic Culture Festival at the JCC Art Center and the Creative Center, Seoul, from November 24 till 30.

° The Festival will feature various special programs designed to attract participation of diverse age groups, including performances by people from the four Nordic countries, -- Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden -- photo and book exhibitions, film festivals and performances for children.

2. At the Festival’s opening ceremony on November 24, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy Park Enna will extend welcome to the Ambassadors from the four Nordic countries to the ROK and other major guests from home and abroad, who will be present at the event to celebrate it, and will join them in celebrating it.

° To celebrate the opening of the Festival, a neo-folk sound group from Denmark, a young Kantale (traditional musical instrument of Finland) virtuoso, a renowned jazz saxophonist from Norway, and a Swedish group on Apple Music’s “The A-List: Jazz” will stage performances at the JCC Art Center from 7:00 pm.

3. The Foreign Ministry expects that the Nordic Culture Festival will serve as an opportunity to introduce to Koreans various cultural arts of the North European countries; for Koreans to fully experience Nordic cultures and take a keener interest in and learn more about North Europe; and for the peoples of the ROK and the North European countries to better understand each other.

4. All the programs will be free of charge. Those interested in joining the event should make prior reservations at the Festival’s official website at www.nordicfest.kr.
