1. The Foreign Ministry, with the support of the East Asia Institute, will host “a forum on Republic of Korea-Central Europe cooperation” at Koreana Hotel, Seoul, on December 1.

2. The forum has been organized to offer Korean enterprises practical and up-to-date information on Central European countries, engines for Europe’s economic development in the wake of successful regime transitions and accessions to the EU, and thereby to support bids of Korean companies to build presence in the region.

° The event will bring together experts working in Central European countries, including CEO Kučera of the Czech Business and Investment Development Agency (CzechInvest), Executive Vice President for Business Information and Trade Yun Won-sok at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), ‎Deputy Director Lin O’Grady of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and a member of the Noerr law firm in Romania.

° At the forum, the participants will analyze the economic situation in Central Europe and demand for cooperation; economic policies of Central European countries; and signature cases of cooperation with those countries.

3. The upcoming forum, the first on Central Europe to come in cooperation with governments, think tanks and private business groups, is expected to serve as a useful opportunity for setting a future direction of cooperation with Central Europe, an emerging blue ocean in Europe.
