1. The government of the Republic of Korea, having appointed Song Hyun-sup as ambassador for international cooperation on aging society to support efforts to work with the international community on aging and to promote the ROK’s relevant policies, and Choi Kyong-lim as ambassador for international cooperation on G20 affairs to take full charge of diplomacy as G20 Sherpa, held an appointment ceremony and presented them with letters of appointment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 3.

° Ambassador Song has served as chair of the Democratic Party’s national committee for the elderly and member of the Party's Supreme Council.

° Ambassador Choi, having worked as Director-General for Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Policy, delegate to FTA negotiations, Deputy Minister for Trade, and Ambassador to Geneva, is currently serving as the ROK’s G20 Sherpa.

2. The newly appointed ambassador for international cooperation on aging society and ambassador for international cooperation on G20 affairs, who have expertise, experiences and human networks in their respective areas, are expected to contribute greatly to the ROK government’s efforts to step up relevant activities at home and abroad.
