1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has decided to raise the travel-alert level for Cabo Delgado, the Republic of Mozambique, to Red Alert (travel-alert Level 3, Travel Restricted) from the previous Yellow Alert (travel-alert Level 2, Highly Cautious), effective from December 18, 2018.

o The decision was made in consideration of the continuing indiscriminate attacks on civilians by armed groups in the province of Cabo Delgado since October 2017, as well as a high possibility that the current security instability will deteriorate further.

2. The Korean nationals planning to travel to Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, are advised to cancel or postpone their trip.

※ Currently, there are no Korean nationals staying in the province of Cabo Delgado.

3. The Foreign Ministry will review whether to further adjust the travel-alert level for Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, after closely monitoring the public security situation and the possibility of terrorist moves in the region.
