1. The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the announcement by the Arab Coalition Forces led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that they would begin a two-week comprehensive ceasefire starting at noon on April 9 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ease tensions in the region and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

2. The ROK government hopes that the announcement of a ceasefire would lead to the end of the war in Yemen and eventually the establishment of permanent peace and dialogue among different political parties for national reconstruction, and reaffirms its support for the efforts of the international community including the United Nations to bring an end to the civil war in Yemen.
