1. At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha, Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, will make an official visit to the Republic of Korea on November 25-27, 2020.
o It is State Councilor Wang’s first official visit to the ROK in about a year, and a face-to-face meeting between the ROK and Chinese Foreign Ministers will be held for the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the meeting, Minister Kang and State Councilor Wang will exchange in-depth views on issues of mutual interest, including cooperation on COVID-19 response, high-level exchanges, and other issues concerning the ROK-China relations; the situation on the Korean Peninsula; and regional and global affairs.

Minister Kang and State Councilor Wang have communicated with each other
frequently including holding ten foreign ministers’ meetings and three phone
conversations. State Councilor Wang’s upcoming visit to the ROK is
expected to serve as a significant opportunity to continue high-level
communication between the two countries even amid the COVID-19 pandemic and
explore ways to take bilateral relations to a higher level.
