1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin met with Ambassador of Israel to the Republic of Korea, Akiva Tor, on October 20.

2. Foreign Minister Park extended condolences to the victims of the Israel-Hamas armed conflict and their bereaved families, and wished for a safe release of the hostages being held in Gaza Strip.

3. In addition, Foreign Minister Park hoped that the situation will de-escalate as soon as possible and that no more lives will be lost, and stated that the relevant parties need to take measures to protect civilians in compliance with international humanitarian law.

4. Particularly, Foreign Minister Park requested Israel’s interest and cooperation for the safety of Korean nationals staying in Israel, and Ambassador Tor said that Israel will continue to cooperate closely with the Korean side for the safety of Korean nationals.
