The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the agreement reached by Israel and Hamas on November 22 on the release of hostages and on a pause in hostilities.

The ROK Government hopes that the agreement will help to prevent further loss of life and to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We also hope that it will pave the way for the return of all hostages to their families.

The ROK Government appreciates the meaningful roles played by Qatar, Egypt and the U.S. in mediating the agreement. We will continue to join the ongoing international efforts to de-escalate tensions and to protect civilians.
