※ Foreign Minister Temon visited Korea from November 26 to 29 for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ strategic invitation program for key figures.

2. Foreign Minister Park expressed his pleasure over Foreign Minister Temon’s visit to Korea as the year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This visit follows the two bilateral summits held in May of last year on the occasion of President Yoon Suk Yeol’s inauguration and the UN General Assembly session in September of this year, respectively. Foreign Minister Temon mentioned that Korea’s development and related experiences have always been a great inspiration for the Central African Republic.

4. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation which has been centered on agriculture and development cooperation, and reaffirmed the agreement, which was reached by the leaders of the two countries during their summit on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in September, to cooperate bilaterally in the fields of development and economy, including the Saemaeul Movement.

5. Foreign Minister Park requested the Central African Republic’s support for Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan and hoped that President Touadéra will attend the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit in order to build a mutually beneficial, sustainable and long-term relationship between Korea and Africa. Foreign Minister Temon promised to make utmost efforts in this regard.

6. Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the two Foreign Ministers agreed on the importance of the international community’s firm and united response to North Korea’s unprecedented level of provocations and agreed to work closely together in that regard.
