1. The Korean government has decided to provide US$1 million in humanitarian assistance for displaced and other Ukrainians affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in Kherson, Ukraine, on June 6.

2. The Korean government has been providing aid to the Ukrainian people suffering from the Ukrainian war and decided to extend further assistance in response to the urgent demand caused by the destruction of the dam.

※ The Korean government donated US$100 million to Ukraine in 2022 and announced its plan to provide US$130 million (for demining, among others) on the occasion of the first anniversary of the outbreak of the Ukrainian war in 2023.

3. The aid will be delivered through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

4. The Korean government hopes that its assistance will help swiftly bring stability to people and help recover areas affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in Ukraine.
