1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the 8th call for Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund* (MKCF) projects on Monday, March 25.

  * The Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund was established in 2012 to support sustainable development in the five Mekong countries, -- Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam --  to which the Korean government donated a total of US$25.76 million from 2013 to 2023.

2. In the 8th call, projects in the seven priority areas pursued by the Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund -- ① culture and tourism, ② human resources development, ③ agriculture and rural development, ④ infrastructure, ⑤ information and communications technology (ICT), ⑥ environment, and ⑦ non-traditional security challenges -- will be selected.

3. Eligible applicants for Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund projects are △ government agencies /autonomous organizations of the Mekong countries and Korea, △ international organizations including inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and △ academic and research institutions including universities, etc. Those wishing to participate should fill out the attached Expression of Interest (EoI) form and submit it by email by Friday, May 10, 2024.

※ Korean and international organizations should submit their EoIs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea at rokmekong2014@mofa.go.kr.

   - Those from the Mekong countries should submit their EoIs to the foreign ministries of their countries (See attachments 1 and 2 for email addresses).
