1. The OECD Meeting of the Council at Ministerial Level (MCM) 2010 will be held on May
27-29 at the  OECD  Conference  Center,  Paris under the theme, “From Recovery to
Sustained Growth.” Delegations from 31 member states are expected to participate in
the meeting. The Korean delegation, headed by Vice Finance Minister Lim Jong-ryong and
Deputy Minister for Trade Ahn Ho-young, will be attending the event.

2. The Ministerial Council is taking place as the world economy begins to emerge from its
worst crisis in modern times. It aims to explore ways to ensure long-term sustainable
growth in the aftermath of the recovery of the world economy.

The participating countries are expected to discuss measures to stimulate economic
growth by ensuring each country’s financial consolidation, employment stability, green
growth and open trade.

3. Furthermore, given the increasing importance of emerging nations such as China, India
and Brazil in the OECD’s efforts to respond to international economic issues, delegations
from China, India, Brazil  and other emerging economies are expected to attend the Council
Meeting to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between those nations and the Organization.

A ceremony celebrating the accession of Chile and the decision to invite Israel, Slovenia
and Estonia to join the OECD will be held as well.

4. Korea , as the chair country of the G20, will further enhance cooperation with the OECD,
and endeavor to ensure that the Green Growth Declaration, which was adopted during the
last MCM in 2009 as a result of the Korean government’s leading efforts, becomes one of
the main activities of the OECD.

In particular, the Korean government plans to actively participate in the preparation
process of the Green Growth Strategy – a follow-up measure to the Green Growth
Declaration - currently under preparation by the OECD Secretariat due for final delivery
in May 2011.

※ The OECD Secretariat is expected to report to this year’s MCM the Interim Report of
Green Growth Strategy.

5. Deputy Minister for Trade Ahn Ho-young will also attend an informal meeting of the
ministers responsible for the WTO Doha Round negotiations, which will be held on the sideline
of the OECD MCM, and discuss the current status and future direction of the Doha Round
negotiations.
