1. The Foreign Ministry has invited the Diplomatic Corps in Korea to Pyeongchang, Gwangwon-do (province), in the annual event the Ministry has held for the Corps. On August 3, the Corps will attend a concert of the Daegwallyeong International Music Festival, which is under way in Pyeongchang from July 14 through August 6. On August 4, the Corps will make a tour of the Woljeong-sa Temple in Mount Odae and take part in a Korean food tasting event.

2. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will join this year’s event to attend the concert and host a reception for the diplomats after the concert. At the reception, he will ask for continued interest and support of the Diplomatic Corps to make a success of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. The Minister and the diplomats will exchange views on matters of shared interest, as they did over the luncheon on July 15.

3. The Foreign Ministry has held this visit event on an annual basis since 2004 to introduce to the Diplomatic Corps traditional Korean culture as well as the unique characteristics of different provincial areas of the ROK and enhance the group’s understanding on key foreign policies of the ROK government.
