1. In Seoul on October 30 and 31, the Republic of Korea and the United States will hold their Sixth High-Level Meeting on their Special Measures Agreement (SMA), which will come into effect in 2014.

※ The current SMA (2009~2013) will expire on December 31, 2013.

2. At the forthcoming Meeting, Hwang Joon-kook, Ambassador for Defense Burden-sharing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will lead the ROK delegation comprised of relevant officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and Cheong Wa Dae. The US side will be headed by Eric John, Senior Advisor for Security Negotiations of the Department of State, and include relevant officials from the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and the United States Forces Korea.

3. In the meeting, the two sides will engage in in-depth discussions by building upon the outcomes of their previous Meetings.
