1. President Park Geun-hye and her Serbian counterpart Tomislav Nikolić exchanged congratulatory letters on December 27 to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

2. In her letter, President Park Geun-hye took note that the two countries have developed friendly and cooperative relations within bilateral and multilateral frameworks since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1989. Hoping that the bilateral relations will further deepen in a range of areas, President Park expressed her willingness to continue to closely cooperate with President Nikolić to that end.

3. President Nikolić stated that in Serbia, the ROK is highly regarded as a leading country in modern technology, which has achieved remarkable economic development. He also expressed hope that marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the two countries will further enhance their friendly relations and expand substantive cooperation, especially on the economic front.

4. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the ROK and Serbia this year, the Korean National Ballet visited Serbia and presented their performances, and a Korean film festival took place. The Serbian government also issued commemorative postage stamps in celebration of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
