1. The 196th meeting of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) Joint Committee will take place at the US Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul on December 17. The ROK Foreign Ministry’s Director-General for North American Affairs Shin Chae-hyun and Deputy Commander of US Forces Korea Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy will co-chair the meeting.

2. In the upcoming meeting, the two sides will review issues concerning the implementation of SOFA and others, including the ricochet accident in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do (province), environment, labor affairs, facilities, and criminal affairs. They will also discuss the way forward for SOFA.
