1. The Center for Japanese Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host an open seminar on “private exchanges for a new Republic of Korea-Japan relations” at the KNDA on March 28.

2. The seminar will mark the second of its kind following the one on “the significance of the ROK-Japan agreement on the ‘comfort women’ issue and its challenges” held in January 2016. The Center for Japanese Studies has been holding on a quarterly basis an open seminar on major issues concerning the ROK-Japan relations.

3. The forthcoming seminar has been organized to seek a future vision in the ROK-Japan relations on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the normalization of the ROK-Japan diplomatic relations. At the event, experts from various sectors of the two countries, including the academia, culture, provincial governments, NGOs and media outlets, will review the progress in private exchanges between the two countries and relevant challenges.
