1. From May 16 till 18, the Foreign Ministry will conduct in Sri Lanka a private-public response exercise to a simulated international aircraft accident. The exercise will come as part of the "disaster response drills 2016 for a safe Korea."

2. In the exercise, the government of the Republic of Korea will mainly review the combined response posture of its headquarters for the protection of overseas Koreans and on-site command headquarters; the manual on the protection of overseas Koreans; the cooperation among the relevant government agencies and other relevant organizations; and make relevant improvements as necessary in an effort to build capacity for protecting overseas Koreans in emergencies abroad.
