1. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Portugal will receive an “international cooperation award” from the Portuguese Association of Museology (APOM) on June 3 in recognition of its contributions to international cultural exchanges and cooperation through cultural events.

2. APOM cited as reasons for presenting the award to the Embassy the Embassy’s introduction of Korean culture to the Portuguese people and contributions to cultural exchanges between the ROK and Portugal through various events, including the performance of Buchaechum (traditional fan dance), a Hansik (Korean food) reception, the screening of Korean movies, Hanbok (traditional Korean garment) try-ons and diverse workshops during the third Korean Cultural Week in October 2015.

3. The selection of the ROK Embassy in Portugal as the winner of the award is an exemplary case where efforts of an ROK overseas diplomatic mission to promote Korean culture are appreciated by its host country. The Foreign Ministry and its overseas missions will continue such efforts across the world.
