1. The Foreign Ministry, in an effort to enhance its cooperative ties with Africa, which is emerging as a “land of opportunity,” will hold a meeting with relevant experts from various walks of life, including government agencies, the National Assembly, businesses, academia, media outlets and other private sectors, on July 4 to exchange relevant views and build networks with them.

2. The fourth meeting on Africa will bring together about 40 people, including those from the “National Assembly Forum for Africa's New Era,” the “Friends of Africa” and “Africa-loving journalists” groups, the Korea-Africa Center, think tanks on African studies at local universities, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Korean Industries, the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and the International Contractors Association of Korea. The participants will share with one another information on Africa and discuss ways to enhance relations with the continent.

3. The forthcoming meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to review the outcome of President Park Geun-hye’s visit to Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya and to gather opinions from Africa experts from various sectors on ways to step up mutually beneficial cooperation with Africa for co-prosperity, including follow-up measures after the presidential visit to the African countries.
