1. The Center for Chinese Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host an international academic conference at the KNDA on September 29.
2. The conference, to be held under the theme “China-North Korea Relations & The Future of Korean Peninsula” will consist of three sessions: past, present and future of China-North Korea relations; China-North Korea relations and solution to the North Korean nuclear issue; and comprehensive discussion. In the sessions, experts from the ROK, the US and China will make presentations and hold discussions.
3. In the upcoming conference, participants will discuss China's strategic thinking about North Korea and its strategy on the Korean Peninsula in the context of history, international politics and the process of reunification of the Korean Peninsula. The conference is also expected to give new insights into the ROK’s North Korea policy by serving as an opportunity to exchange opinions on ways for the ROK, the US and China to cooperate to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.
