1. Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee Do-hoon will hold the “second ROK-France high-level consultation on ways to respond to the North Korean nuclear issue” with Nicolas de Rivière, head of the General Directorate for Political Affairs and Security of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (vice minister-level), in Seoul on December 5.

2. The upcoming consultation is expected to serve as an opportunity for the ROK and France, a permanent member of the Security Council and a key EU country, to further strengthen cooperation in dealing with the North Korean nuclear issue by sharing their assessments of the situation and exploring ways to respond to North Korea’s missile launch on November 29.
