- Joint announcement by relevant government agencies on the major development of the Indo-Pacific Strategy during the first year and key elements of its Action Plan

1. The ROK Government will host an Indo-Pacific Forum titled, “The Action Plan for a Free, Peaceful, Prosperous Indo-Pacific of the Republic of Korea” on December 19, 2023, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Indo-Pacific Strategy.

2. The forum, jointly hosted by key government agencies including MOFA, is anticipated to convene approximately one hundred participants: Diplomatic Corps in the ROK, representatives from regional organizations in the Indo-Pacific region, and domestic experts and officials from key institutions in relevant fields.

3. The Government has had close discussions to draw up a detailed action plan of the Indo-Pacific Strategy at the interagency level over the past year since the announcement of the Indo-Pacific Strategy (Dec.28, 2022). In this forum, major activities over the past year will be reviewed and key elements of the Action Plan on the nine core lines of effort will be introduced. In addition, the forum will present an opportunity for discussions on future projects.

By hosting this forum, the ROK government will reaffirm its steadfast commitment to contributing to freedom, peace, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and beyond through the substantive implementation of the Indo-Pacific Strategy. In doing so, the Government aims to enhance solidarity and cooperation with partners who share its values and visions.
