1. Director-General for Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kim Sang-hoon met with Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kanai Masaaki at the Korean Foreign Ministry on February 10.
2. The two Directors-General took note of the relationship between the two countries, which mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations this year, and agreed to hold various commemorative projects, starting with the lighting ceremony at Namsan Seoul Tower and Tokyo Tower on Saturday, February 15.
3. In addition, the two Directors-General broadly exchanged opinions on bilateral and other issues of mutual interest between Korea and Japan and agreed to gather wisdom to take the bilateral relationship to the next level.
4. The two Directors-General agreed to continue close communication between the diplomatic authorities of the two countries for the future-oriented development of bilateral relations.
