Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will visit Paris, France, from November 2 to 3 to garner support for Korea’s bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan. Foreign Minister Park will meet with delegates of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) Member States in Paris and ask for their support for Busan's bid to host the World Expo.

Foreign Minister Park will also meet with BIE Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes and ask for his interest in and advice on Korea's efforts to host the World Expo in Busan.

Next, Foreign Minister Park will attend the ROK-U.S. Space Forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the U.S. Department of State in Seoul from November 6 to 7.

The upcoming forum, which takes place in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the ROK-U.S. alliance, will serve as an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen space cooperation between the two countries through comprehensive discussions on space issues, including space diplomacy and security, exploration and economic cooperation.

In his opening remarks, Foreign Minister Park will explain that the ROK-U.S. alliance is expanding into a space alliance.

From the U.S. side, Executive Secretary of the National Space Council Chirag Parikh will attend the forum as head of its delegation. In addition, space experts from various fields, including the governments of the two countries, business and academia, will participate in the forum as panelists.
