Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will have a meeting with the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis on February 6. In the meeting, the two sides will discuss Korea-Switzerland relations, cooperation on the international stage including the United Nations Security Council, and regional affairs, among others.

Moving on, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will meet with democratic policy experts, including President and CEO of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Damon Wilson and Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Victor Cha, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs later this afternoon.  

In the meeting, Foreign Minister Cho will share with the experts the Korean government’s efforts to promote democracy, including its plan to host the Third Summit for Democracy next month, and listen to the experts’ policy suggestions regarding democracy.
