Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon will virtually deliver congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of the “Korea Foundation (KF)’s Public Diplomacy Week” event, which will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza on the morning of Friday, October 29.

The Korea Foundation’s Public Diplomacy Week, this year’s round of which will mark the fourth of its kind, is a public diplomacy event which engages Korean citizens in organizing public diplomacy events. A number of public diplomacy organizations will also join the event, holding various exhibitions, seminars and hands-on activities.

In his congratulatory remarks, Vice Minister Choi will share the efforts made so far by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea Foundation to increase the private sector’s participation in the field of public diplomacy, and encourage various stakeholders, including Korean people, nongovernmental organizations and local government agencies, to take a more active part in advancing public diplomacy.
